The Screwdriver Cocktail is our first cocktail recipe here on The Home Cocktail Club. Its a short and sweet recipe as it only uses two ingredients. The Screwdriver Cocktail was first made by American oil workers out in the Persian gulf in the mid-20th century. While working, they would secretly pour a little vodka into their orange juice and, in the absence of a spoon, they would stir their drinks with a screwdriver – hence the name.

Quite simply, this is Orange Juice & Vodka, you can spice it up by using a flavoured Vodka. For example, we enjoy the Absolut

range, with Lime being our flavour of choice.

Ingredients

  • One shot of Vodka
  • Orange Juice

Screwdriver Cocktail Recipe

  1. Add a few ice cubes to the bottom of the glass, this will keep the screwdriver cool and make it a refreshing drink.
  2. Add in the shot (or shots if you enjoy living life dangerously) of Vodka, before filling the glass up with orange juice.
  3. Give it a stir and garnish with a slice of orange.
